The Fencing Co, built to be found.

A fast, mobile-first website for a Melbourne fencing business, designed to turn a quick phone search into a quote request, and structured so Google can find it suburb by suburb.

The brief

The Fencing Co needed a website that did one job well: take a homeowner who is searching for a fence on their phone and turn them into a quote request, without the run-around of ringing five fencers one by one. The site had to feel local and trustworthy, load fast on a phone in the backyard, and be honest about how the service works, connecting homeowners with local fencing contractors rather than pretending to do the work itself.

Most tradie sites are a digital business card. This one had to be a working front door, built to capture the enquiry while the homeowner is still in the mood to ask.

What we designed

We built a single, focused page that leads with the one thing that matters, get free quotes, and repeats that call to action naturally as the visitor scrolls. The quote form sits at the top and again at the bottom, and asks only for what a contractor actually needs to quote: name, suburb, fence type, rough length and contact details. Nothing else to slow it down.

The look is clean and confident, with real fencing imagery rather than stock clip-art, a dark, solid brand colour that reads as dependable, and typography big enough to use one-handed on a phone. Every design decision was made mobile-first, because that is where the searches happen.

Built to be found on Google

This is the part most cheap websites skip. Rather than one flat page, the site is structured into pages that match how people actually search:

Under the hood, every page carries clean titles and descriptions, structured data, a sitemap, and honest, plain-English copy that answers the questions homeowners genuinely ask, including how splitting a dividing fence cost with a neighbour works in Victoria. That mix of clear structure and useful content is what gives Google a reason to rank the site over a one-page template.

Honest by design

Fencing sits close to Victorian building rules, so the site is careful about what it claims. It states plainly that The Fencing Co is a connection service, not a registered building practitioner, and that the contractor you choose quotes and completes the work directly with you. Getting that right protects the business and builds trust with homeowners at the same time.

The result

The site is live, fast, and indexed by Google across its fence-type and suburb pages, giving the business a genuine local footprint instead of a single listing lost in a directory. It is hosted, maintained and improved on the same simple monthly plan every TradieWebsiteHQ customer gets, so it keeps working without the owner ever touching code.
